James Plowman Obituary

COKER James Edward Plowman, age 62, of Coker, died March 1, 2006, at home. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel of Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

His father, Roscoe Plowman, and brother, Jerry Plowman, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Nell Plowman of Coker; godchild, Paula Lunsford of Coker; sons, Darren Plowman (Aprille) of Coker and Chris Plowman (Erica) of Coaling; sisters, Catherine Plowman and Carolyn Walker of Coaling and Alice Thrasher (Morris) of Tuscaloosa; brothers, John A. Plowman and Roger D. Plowman (Mary Sue) of Coker, Carl F. Plowman (Donna) of Samantha, and Charles R. Plowman (Barbara) of Coker; mother, Gladys L. Plowman of Coaling; grandchildren, Camryn Alexis Plowman, Breanna Nicole Plowman, Shawn Hallman and Kassidy Keith; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Plowman was a member of New Beginning Worship Center. James retired from McAbee Construction Co. after 24 years. He was an avid bass fisherman, a member of North River Bass Club and Bass Federation. He won the Angler of the Year Award in 1999. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed.

Pallbearers will be Darren Plowman, Chris Plowman, James Barrett, Morris Thrasher, Timmie Plowman and Jonathan Plowman.

Honorary pallbearers are employees of McAbee Construction Company.
