Tuscaloosa - Janice C. Oswalt, age 67, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. Janice was born December 12, 1953.

Janice is survived by her husband, E.D. Oswalt, Jr.; daughter Amy Lancaster (Toby); and daughter Ginger Shirley (Todd); brother Hilburn Randall Dunn (Linda); grandchildren Jackson Lancaster, Austin Lancaster, Adam Lancaster, Emma Rae Lancaster, and Will Shirley and nephew Hilburn Randall Dunn, Jr..

Janice was preceded in death by her parents Melvin Dunn and Flossie Dunn.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 24, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11:00 AM with interment at Sunset Memorial Park.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother and Meemaw. She loved the Lord and reading her Bible. She was a member of Taylorville Baptist Church and Sunday school class, Women of Grace. She was a graduate from the University of Alabama College of Education. She spent 20 years teaching and loving her students. She retired from the Tuscaloosa County School System. She had a contagious smile she blessed everyone with. We are thankful for the joy and memories she gave each of us. She will be greatly missed.

Serving as pallbearers are Todd Shirley, Toby Lancaster, Jackson Lancaster, Austin Lancaster, Adam Lancaster, Derek Thornton.

Honorary Pallbearers; Women of Grace, Brookwood Medical Center SICU, Janet Canty, Gayle Pritchett and Maghan Hewitt.
