So sorry for your loss. Maxine was such a special, precious woman of God, and I am blessed to have had her as a Sunday School teacher for several years. We are living in Spanish Fort now, and I won't be able to attend the services, but my thoughts and prayers will be with her family.

I'm sending this message as a tribute to a lady I met only once during an event for my church held at Tuscaloosa River Market. Her son Rush, a very talented guitarist and good friend helped us with the music for the event. I got to meet her when we went on break, and she was so sweet and lovely, and so thrilled to hear her son playing that guitar! I truly believe that meeting her was one of God's many gifts to me, and I'll cherish it always! I send my love, my deepest condolences, and my prayers to Rush, Diane, Alisa, Carol, Ed, and the rest of this Wonderful family!

Maxine was a light of joy to all who were privileged to know her. You only had to be around her for a few moments to experience kindness, humor, grace, wisdom, compassion, and friendship. She encouraged me on some of my darkest days. I will miss her here but I know she is experiencing a glorious homecoming in Heaven! I love you Maxine!

Maxine was a loving, funny, and hospitable Christian lady. She made the world a nicer place and treated me as a daughter when I needed a "home" for a period of time in college. I'll always love her!
