Nadine Marciel Fouche life-long Venturan, mom, partner, caretaker, friend, diligent worker, inspiring Gardner and fisherman"Nadine was born at home to Walter and Pearl Heitshusan. Attending schools in Ventura graduating Ventura High in 1945, then moving on to Ventura Junior College. Mom reminisced about some of her adventures of her youth like roller-skating down Vista del Mar with her sister Betty and climbing to Two Trees to carve her name." She told us of the time in the 1940s she was pulled out of junior high school to harvest walnuts, She proclaimed that she was not much of a walnut picker as they paid by the pound, and she was never able to pick that much."
Nadine had an incredible work ethic. She started working for Peirano's Grocery Store just out of high school doing accounting and continued until her friend Nick Peirano's retirement in 1986. Concurrently, Nadine worked for The County of Ventura for over 23 years when she retired from the Sheriff's Department". Mom continued working well after retirement working in the caretaking field.
Some of Nadine's Passions in life were spending time with her family, she loved camping, deep sea fishing or just a long drive always ending in a surprise visit. Nadine was also an incredible gardener she was a virtual green thumb, often allowing strangers to marvel at her garden and pick their own starts. Mom had the knack of creating conversation everywhere she went, she was quite quick witted and you were never quite sure what the petite little grandma might say. Nadine passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Nadine is survived by her partner and best friend Paul Nelson, her four children Alan Stetler(Kathy) Linda Davis(David) Kathy Knauss (Mike) Sandi Hood(Steve)10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
