On June 24, 2021, our mother, Ollie "Cricket" Braddock gained her wings.
Everyone who knew our loving mother knows who her biggest crush in the
world was. We would like to believe as she approached the Pearly Gate he was waiting for her. We know she would be so thrilled to see him standing tall, giving her that unique smile he always had while having every strand of his dark hair perfectly in place. As he gently took her hand and led her through the gates he began singing her favorite song. He then placed her hand into the hand of the man she has missed for too long, her best friend and amazing husband of 42 years, Ray. Elvis sand "Love Me Tender" as our mother and father were once again reunited and began dancing their way through heaven proving love is truly forever.
"Cricket" was the loving mother of Terrie Braddock (Tim), Betty Bennett (Stanley) and Sara. She was an excellent Nana to KC (Ben), Ryan, Dylan
(Kristina), Bradley (Haley), Christian and Stefani. Great Nana to Thomas, Sophia, Levi and Isaac. She was a sister to Edna Campbell and Ray Boswell, an aunt, cousin, and friend to a host of awesome people. She was an honorary sister of Sarah Kennedy and Linda Reid; Honorary Mom/Nan to Les and the girls, Jess and the girls, Lori, BJ, and Johnathan and anyone else who ever needed a bed, meal love or just a little attention. She made sure they knew she had an open door policy.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Onie Boswell; her loving husband, Ray; sister, Betty Ruth; brother, Willie Gene, along with nieces,
nephews and cousins
"Cricket" loved her family, Elvis sewing, crafts, homemaking, doing nails, cooking awesome food, camping and teaching Girl Scouts. She never gave up the chance to hold a baby and she insisted that taking pictures was a necessary part of life. She was always searching for any family through genealogy because she felt a family could never be big enough. She always instilled in us that family was the most important relationship someone could have.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ken "Bo" Anderson, Mark Dockery, Kendell Holman, Dale Cook, Johnathan Lewis and Ben Lowry. Singing and reading
will be done by Hanna Clanton. Bro. Horace Blount and Bro. Bill Phares officiating.
