Ruby Hataway Obituary

TUSCALOOSA Ruby Adams Hataway, age 78, of Tuscaloosa, died June 21, 2007, at Forest Manor Nursing Home. Services will be 3 p.m. today at Cottondale Community Church with Bro. Chris Barnett, Bro. Tony Ledbetter, and Bro. Ron Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, William Daniel Adams, her daughter, Patsy Adams Vail, who passed from this life just 10 days before, her granddaughter, Mendi Sexton, and husband M.K. "Bill" Hataway.

She is survived by her daughters, Dannie Gail Adams Colburn and Debbie Adams Lee; her son, Buddy Adams (Shirley), all of Tuscaloosa; one sister, Katherine Conwill (Paul), of Amory, Mississippi; stepson, Ricky Hataway; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Ruby was born May 16, 1929, in Lowndes County, Miss. She was a member of Cottondale Community Church for 45 years.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Barnett, Jerry Boatwright, Barry Payne, Gary Warren, Allen Kelly, and Ted Snider.

The family would especially like to thank Cottondale Community Church for its kindness and hospitality and the many friends and neighbors for their support and prayers. Our mother was best known for her sweet smile, compassion and love for her family. We are trusting God will comfort us and enable us to rejoice in knowing that we will all be together again.
