I had the pleasure of attending a reunion of Troop 43 former scouts several years ago. One of the scouts worked in a neonatal intensive care unit in Georgia. Another had been a professor for several years at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Still another was a full Colonel in the Army. Others were serving in the State Legislature. One was the chairman of the board of the hospital. Another was a physician. Bill's influence on the lives of theses and hundreds of other was profound and has been multiplied through their influence on their families and communities.
I often think for the times we spent as scouts , and the time Bill and Estelle Daffron so willingly gave to our lives.
Andy, please accept my condolences on your loss.

Words can't begin to express the debt of gratitude so many young men owe Mr. Bill Daffron - I was not one of his scouts - but I was an Eagle Scout in Troop 43 which he started and nurtured for so many years. I always enjoyed calling Mr. Daffron over the years and hearing his stories. We are blessed for his life and the lessons he left. Men such as Mr. Daffron don't pass through our community very often. He was loved - and will be missed by all who knew him.

As a former Eagle Scout, Mr. Daffron was my Scoutmaster during my Boy Scout days. He was a fine man, a true leader, who was a personal example to so many Boy Scouts, like myself.
I will always remember him with fondness and appreciation.

I was a member of Troup 43. Bill was a very big influence on life.
He led me to close to becoming an Eagle Scout.
I had to move to Virginia soon after becoming a Life Scout and never made it to Eagle.
There has always been a special place in my life for Bill. He taught me a lot about life as well as about scouting. He always had time for the boys in Troup 43. I still remember the times he took us to North River to swim.
I thank God for placing a man like Bill in my life.
