You are the best dad I could“ve ever have. I remember when you came home I was hiding under the living room table and you said " I guess I got no one to build this Lego set with.." and then I ran over to your arms and said " I WANNA BUWILD WEGO SET" and those were the good times. I remember you had cancer and still came to pick me up from daycare and I wish you could be with me now. I love you dad.

My memories of time with Barton included frequent trips to Sebastian Joes and the local Dairy Queen. Barton loved to talk and he looked good ice cream.

I worked with Barton at NPSL as one of their vendors. Got to know Barton and enjoyed time with him. He was a great guy.

I had the opportunity to work with Barton. He was so talented and accomplished in so many areas. His sense of humor was wonderful. I am so incredibly sad to read this. My prayers are with his family, friends and colleagues.

Many of you knew Barton better than I, but four "Cs" come to mind when I think of perhaps 10 years over which we shared friendship:
Courteous - He treated others well. Despite detesting "shots" and "IV needles" he remained grateful to the clinic workers who assisted him. He always respected others beliefs. Knowing my relationship with God was important to me, he asked me to pray at meals together.
Compassionate - He was unusual in that he had a technical mind but he never lost his compassion for the people he served in New Perspective Senior Living. He was so tender with the residents.
Courageous - He faced cancer the way he faced the storm into which we flew on the way back from Milwaukee--with concentration and resolve.
Curious - He was always up for something new, whether it was a new treatment for his cancer or a new bakery for breakfast just a few days before he left us.
Barton, you were a true friend. I will miss you.

I was his flight instructor. A real natural at being a pilot. We quickly became great friends. He even was the photographer at my wedding. He'll be missed

Deepest sympathy to the family! What a privilege to meet Barton and work with him for many years! May he use his new wings to fly again! Rest in peace Barton!
