Bernie and I met in Okinawa in 1952 and have been friends ever since. I'm grateful that I had the oportunity to get to Know Bernie. I know that he truly cared for me, I am greatfull for the time he took to get to know me. I will miss him. I do however, look forward to meeting him again at the great transformation, when we will all be celebrating our new lives.

Bernie was a true friend for many years. He made a promise to my Mom 20 years ago just before she passed away to look out for me and he kept his word. He never missed my birthday and always called me on the date that Mom passed away to give me strength. He often times would visit me at work for lunch and always brought me his homemade brownies. When I moved back to Minnesota from Las Vegas, he flew out to drive my U Haul truck home for me. He was my pillar of strength, my guardian angel, and my very good friend. When I reread his many e mails from last spring he prepared me for the possibility that he might be joining my Mom in heaven. He did it in a kind way, more concerned with my feelings than his own. I will miss Bern so much and always have love in my heart until we meet again. Respectfully, Dawn Foresta
