There has not been a day since Bethann passed away that I have not thought of her. I remember the last time we went to Minnesota to visit and how happy she was to see us and Madalyn, I don't think she put Madayln down for more than a minute. She smiled the whole time we were there.

She was my fun aunt, the artistic one, the one I always wished I could be more like. I miss her so much. If I have learned anything from Bethann's passing, it would be this: Live and love everyday as it was your last, because you never know what God has in store for you.

Dear Popo:

I cannot believe how much I miss my Muffin; how much I miss wrapping myself around you when we go to bed at night watching "Leave it to Beaver"; how much I miss our Saturday and Sunday morning Bloody Mary pontoon cruises; how much I miss the the sound of your voice; how I miss the way you wouldn't answer the phone when I would call you 10 times a day; the way you could turn our home into a House Beautiful pictorial; the way you could give me "the look" and I would be putty in your hands; the way we could just know what each other was thinking about any particular subject; the way you felt when I hugged you and smelled your neck. I am dying without you and I have no one to talk to anymore! I can't even dream about you!!!!!!!!! I smell your clothes every day. I remember your cackle of a laugh! I remember the delight in your face when you caught the big fish! I remember how you came up to me and asked me to dance with you on the cabin deck 4 weeks ago to the Righteous Brothers and how I declined...Oh My God how I regret that single act of cowardice...I thought people would laugh at us! I love you forever, and I will love you until the day I finally die, too. I picture you in Heaven with our daughter, Courtney, holding her and waiting for me to join you.

I am lost without you, Po, and I need you so badly. Please come to me in my dreams soon so that we can talk one more time!

Please remember that I have always loved you, and that even though you may not be here anymore, You did not go without knowing that your husband loved you more than life itself. You were the love of my life...and I will see you again.

With all my love,

Dave

I have enjoyed seeing Beth Ann through the eyes of current friends, and wish I could have known her recently as well as long ago! Our family has known Beth Ann since she was born- best as the cute, smiling, raven-haired little sister of our families. How ironic that I read of her celebrating on July 4th, as that is one of the holidays our family always spent together. Memories of Beth Ann include devotion to her Pugs, her interest in Spanish and Peru, the lovely summer wedding and reception in Fort Wayne with a beaming Beth Ann and joyful Dave , and her calm, smiling pride in her children. Yes, Dixie, she did have some very good times and things in her life. When the hurtful shock dulls, these memories will remain. Love to all, Nancy.

Beth...even though we only had 3 short years to be friends, you touched our lives in so many ways. We will never forget your warm hospitality, the way you & Dave were the first to welcome us to Twin Island, our many times spent on your front deck of the cabin, the Thanksgivings at your home and mostly, how wonderful it was to be in the company of a couple who exemplified the true meaning of love and marriage. I am thankful for the times we shared and also so glad we were just together this past weekend. I have your art work hanging in my home and your recipes in my cabinet. For those reminders of you, I'm also thankful. The last time I saw you as yourself, it was the 4th of July, you were sitting in the sunshine, on your dock, feet dangling in the water, in your blue swimsuit, smiling and waving at us as we went by in our boat. That is the image I will always keep in my mind when I think of you. God Speed Beth....I miss you already!
