Brian Gerard WILSON

Age 81 of Sequim, Washington, formerly of Roseville, Minnesota, passed away suddenly on Friday, September 23, 2022. Preceded in death by his parents, Robert Victor Wilson and Mirial Joy Wilson (nee Towns), his adopted father, Howard R. Short, his sisters, Maureen Margaret Young and Patricia May Reynolds, his son-in-law, Philip Russell Groenewald and his grandson, Andrew Patrick Groenewald. Survived by his beloved wife Judy; daughter Michelle; daughter Joanne; son Mark (Tina) and daughter Katy; grandchildren Matthew, Russell, Leah (Joe), Cullen, Kayleigh, Shelby, Nikki and Quinn; brother Robert (Robyn); step-brother Bruce; step-sister Penny' and sister-in-law Robyn (Doug); nieces, nephews and many many friends. Born in Sydney, Australia, Brian was driven at an early age, quickly getting his Bachelor and Master of Science Degrees while starting his career at Shell Chemical in Sydney. As a trained Chemist he worked various positions at Shell, and Colgate-Palmolive. He then began a long career with 3M Corporation, starting in Australia. In 1974, he was transferred to the 3M headquarters in St. Paul, Minnesota, working in the Adhesives Division. His global work with 3M fueled his love of travel, sending him all over the world. Upon his retirement in 1999, he was the International Technical Manager of the Adhesives Division. Brian loved spending time with his family and many friends. He was an avid sailor, exploring the Apostle Islands of Lake Superior. In his retirement years, he continued his nautical expeditions, exploring the islands of Puget Sound and the Inside Passage. Brian is greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022, from 1-3pm at Roseville Memorial Chapel, 2245 North Hamline Avenue, Roseville, MN 55113 with a private interment to follow at a later date.
