July 29, 1968 — May 28, 2023 On May 28th, 2023 Brooke Helene (Brunsoman) Kassar peacefully passed away in her home in Danville, CA. Brooke grew up in White Bear Lake where she attended Hill-Murray HS, and went on to complete her BA at the University of Minnesota. After college, she successfully served in various roles in the financial services industry followed by her most cherished role in life, being a full time mother to her three kids. Brooke moved to California (Bay Area) in 1999 and led an active lifestyle enjoying the outdoors, working out and spending quality time with friends and family. Brooke's love for literature and fascination with murder mystery books and movies were matched only by her adoration for animals, especially her beloved Cavaliers, Bruno and Donner. Her friends appreciated her calm demeanor, great listening skills and "chill" vibe. She will also be remembered for her style, sense of humor and gentle fun-loving nature. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and may her soul find eternal peace. Brooke is preceded in death by her mother, Sherry Kaye Brunsoman. Survived by her former spouse, Bernard 'Bernie' Kassar; children, Isabella, Quincy, and Maxwell Kassar; father, Jerry Brunsoman; brother, Christopher Brunsoman (his longtime partner Lisa Newman); other close family and friends. Funeral Service held at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 4, in the Sanctuary bldg. at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi. Burial at Lakeview Cemetery (Mahtomedi). Celebration of Life from 4-8pm at Dellwood Country Club in Dellwood. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Brooke's memory to the Humane Society.
