Clyde Walter SHERMAN

Age 87 of South St. Paul, MN On Friday, October 8, Clyde W. Sherman went home to be with the Author and Finisher of his faith.  Clyde was a devoted husband, father and follower of Jesus Christ. He was born and raised in St. Paul, MN. After serving in the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer, he began his career at Web Publishing as a Linotype Operator, then later served as a Police Officer for 28 years on the Inver Grove Heights Police Department. After retirement, he served as a Deputy U.S. Marshal Federal Court Security Officer and as a Chaplain for the South St. Paul Police Department. In 1972, Clyde received the free gift of salvation and eternal life through Jesus Christ, and he made Jesus the Lord of His life. God gave him a heart of compassion for lost and hurting people, and throughout his career as a police officer and as a chaplain for the South St. Paul Police Department, he shared the life saving gospel of Jesus Christ and ministered and prayed for many people. Clyde is preceded in death by his wife Della Dean (Sue) Sherman, by his parents Clyde C. Sherman and Marseline B. Sherman, sister Ferne Johnson, and son-in-law Robert Young. Survived by sister Marcia Grafft and children, Marcie Craven, Cherie Young, Lorrie Hiti (Chris), Rebekah Lonnes (Daniel), Clyde (Louise); 13 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren.  Going Home Celebration to be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021.  Visitation 9:30-11:30 am with funeral service following at Bethesda Lutheran Church, 2855 47th St. East, Inver Grove Heights, MN 55076.
