Dan Dolan was a great man, mentor and friend to me. I met Dan at Minnesota Correctional Facility-Oak Park Heights as an inmate through Amicus, an organization in Minneapolis that connect prison inmates with mentors from the community. Dan Dolan was so inspirational, positive and very supportive of me. He helped me with employment and so many resources to help me have a successful re-entry back into the community. He was so gracious, compassionate, kind, generous, patient, committed and understanding to me. Dan Dolan was the truth and a true light in my life. He was something exceptional and special. I will miss you dearly my friend. I know you enjoying eternal paradise with God and Jesus Christ. You gave your all and best to your family, friends, community and society as a whole. I'm a better man today because of you. America isn't colorblind, but you saw the potential and best in me, with me being an African-American male in America. I love you my friend. RIP. Sincerely, Matthew Leroy Jenkins

I am a long time neighbor of Dan and Joanie in Woodbury. I've never met a more kind, sweet, fun gentleman. He always flattered me by calling me The Mayor. He had such an impactful voice. Hugs and love to you, Joanie.
