Donald NAUER Obituary

Was born to Louis and Edna Nauer (Wagner) on July 1, 1933 and entered heaven on May 30, 2023. He was met by God our Heavenly Father, his parents, sister Mary Louise Nauer, brother Eugene Nauer, and brother-in-law Leland Riley. He is survived by his loving sister Julianna Riley, sister-in-law Beverly Nauer, nieces and nephews: Patti Morrison, Mary Ann Sumption, Joseph Roehl, Susan Roehl, Mike Nauer, Jim Nauer, Michelle Parr, his great and great-great nieces and nephews, many cousins and special friend, Duane Baldner, and Keifer the bird. Donnie entered the Franciscan Brotherhood in 1949 at age 15 on the Feast Day of the Holy Cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the King. He returned home to East Saint Paul at the age of 36, ultimately choosing to remain home with his family vs. entering the priesthood stating that "charity starts at home." He was a very supportive and loving brother and uncle. He helped his sister Julianna raise her four young children along with their sister Mary Lou. He worked as a custodian for many years and later in life part time as a cook, making meals for retired priests. Donnie was a family man, had a good sense of humor an infectious/unique laugh and above all was a man of deep faith. He was a source of inspiration and guidance for his family when it came to prayer and was steadfast in his belief system. Uncle Donnie loved life, but he loved God more and he never had any doubt that life really starts after death. He will be laid to rest after Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, June 6 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 8260 4th St. N, Oakdale. Visitation at 10am, mass at 11am, burial to follow. "Anybody I have offended I ask for your forgiveness and please pray for my soul." In body he has left us, but in spirit he lives on. Donnie was an active member of Guardian Angels Church; in lieu of flowers please share the word of God with others, continue to pray in your daily life and if able give to Little Sisters of the Poor or Guardian Angels Food Shelf in his memory. A special thanks to Our Lady of Peace Hospice and Marion of Cerenity. WULFF 651-776-1555 www.wulfffuneralhome.com
