3M Chemist Retiree 1931-2023 Devoted Wife, Step-Mother, Grand and Great-Grandmother, Sister, Cousin, Aunt and Friend. Preceded in death by parents, Carl and Susan Thaemlitz, husband, William A (Bill) Peters, brother, Ralph and sister-in-law, Geri Thaemlitz. Doris' faith and family were her strongholds. Survived by, step-daughters, Sandra (David) Dickman, Karen Peters; grand daughters, Kristen Hayashi and Elizabeth Karuschak; great-grand daughter, Maria Kathryn Karuschak; nephews, Carl, Terre and John Thaemlitz; niece, Sara Thaemlitz; and many cousins and friends. Doris was born in St. Paul, MN. Graduated from St. Joseph's Acadamy '49 and St. Catherine College (University) '53 with degrees in Chemistry, Math and Philosophy. She worked as an analytical Chemist in the Geology Dept, U of MN and at the 3M Company from 1959, retiring in 1990. She met and married Bill in 1979. After retirement they traveled and spent winters in South Texas. She became a 24/7 caregiver for Bill following his stroke in 2007 until his death in 2012. Her last years were spent at Saint Therese of Woodbury. She will be sadly missed by family and friends, but she is at peace with her loved ones. A Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Ambrose of Woodbury Catholic Community, 4127 Woodbury Drive, Woodbury, MN will be held May 16, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Luncheon following Mass. Private interment at Resurrection Cemetery, Mendota Hts., MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Saint Ambrose of Woodbury Education Fund or Saint Therese of Woodbury.
