Just found out that Doug passed away. I was a friend of Dougs
in Hawthorne in the 6o's. The last time I saw him was around 73 and have been wondering about his whereabouts. Sorry
to hear of his passing.

My husband and I had Doug as our "regular" driver several times a month for the past 15+ years. We were so excited when he got a cell phone so that we could call him to make arrangements. Doug was not really one to embrace technology. We enjoyed our conversations with him - even our teenage kids make references to something Doug said once in a while because he was such an interesting guy. His perspectives were always very level and honest.

Doug talked often about his family back in California. He had great stories about growing up in San Diego in the 50's.

When he didn't arrive for our pick up on Monday, we knew something was wrong. We were greatly saddened to hear of his passing, and we will really miss him and the greatly entertaining conversations. You have our deepest sympathy.
