I was an undergraduate student at the University of MN business school when I met Gordon. I had been a programmer the two years before I came to the University, and took a part time job as a keypuncher. More than a few times I corrected students' COBOL and Fortran code that they had sent to be keypunched. Soon I had a line of students coming to the keypunch room asking for help. Gordon learned about me, and dragged me out of the keypunch room to be one of his teaching assistants. I took all the MIS graduate coursework as an undergrad, but I met a lot of wonderful people through the classes. He mentored me and talked me into getting an MBA. Gordon was a kind, gentle person who helped a lot of people.
