Harriet WILSON Obituary

Born December 25, 1955 Died April 13, 2021 Harriet died peacefully in her home on April 13, 2021, at age 65. Harriet is survived by her brother Perry M. Wilson III (Elizabeth Cutter) and sisters, Sarah Johnston (Paul) and Ruth Holm (Ron), nieces and nephews (Elizabeth, Sam, Eric, Martha, Peter, Hudson and Elliott). She is pre-deceased by her parents, Mary Stringer Wilson and Perry M. Wilson, Jr. Her grandniece Caroline will miss coloring with Harriet. Harriet will be missed by her many wonderful caregivers at ResCare and Geneva Suites. Harriet loved art and over her life she enjoyed latch-hooking, beading, coloring, and all crafts. She received a 30-year award for her dedicated, reliable, and amazingly accurate work through her employment at Merrick, a sheltered workplace for adults with disabilities. Harriet was happiest when she was with her family and enjoyed holiday dinners and celebrations. The family is grateful for the care Harriet received throughout her life from people at ResCare Community Living and Geneva Suites. Harriet was fortunate to work through Merrick, Inc., and found satisfaction in doing her work well. Harriet will be sorely missed especially by the grandnieces and nephews who could not see her because of the pandemic. Few things brought more joy than Harriet's smile and laugh. Her whole body twinkled when she was pleased. Her family is grateful for the depth and meaning Harriet added to our lives. A family service is being held. The family requests that memorials be given to PACER or Merrick, Inc., in Harriet's name so that others with disabilities will know the joy of contributing to our community.
