Helen Wood Obituary



Helen Wood, well-known artist in Sequim, passed away on October 11, 2014, after a series of illnesses

She was best known for her watercolors and was proud to be both a charter and a lifetime member of the Blue Whole Gallery in Sequim.

Helen was born March 6, 1928, in Rifle, Colorado, to Fritz Ebler and Clara Critchlow.

On March 15, 1950, she married Charles David Wood in Grand Junction, Colorado. They shared 64 wonderful years together

For more than three decades in Clallam County and the city of Sequim, they had fun planning, building, decorating and living in five different homes.

She is survived by her husband, "Dave" of Sequim; their children, Laurel Finta of El Dorado Hills, California, and Bradley Wood of Yelm,Washington; and grandchildren Brandon Wood and Mariah Craig.

As she wished, Helen was buried in Sequim View Cemetery, with a private family memorial ceremony.

In her memory and to help the library acquire more items about cats, donations may be made in Helen's name to the Sequim Library, 630 North Sequim Avenue, Sequim, WA 98382.

Remembrances may also be made to the Blue Whole Gallery, 129 West Washington Street, Sequim, WA 98362.

Hellen was a women of dignity and grace. It was pleasure knowing her. In my meetings with her she never boasted about her life but was delighted to share about her children and husband. My condolences to her husband and family.
