Janice KUEHNEMUND Obituary

Of Colorado Springs, CO Formerly of St. Paul On October 10, 2013 at age 59 went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a 10 month struggle with cancer. II Corinthians 5:4-7. Preceded in death by her father Carl Kuehnemund. Survived by mother, Betty, brother, Ron (Patty) Kuehnemund, niece, Tina and family, cousins, Bonnie and Karen (Don), her friend Len Campanarro and many many friends. Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 14th at Trinity Lutheran Church in North Branch. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church on Thursday. I had ever met in my entire life. Her beauty, her spirit, her kindness, and her charm were truly a gift from God."

I worked with Jan and knew her over about 7 years, and I am grateful and truly blessed to have been in her life, as a video producer, as a friend, and as an music associate.

I always knew that she would become an industry maverick, helping to launch others in the music business. Yet, her love of music and her love of being on stage was the driving force in her life. Words will never be able to express how much I, and many others, miss her; and how I and many others will continue to long to hear her sweet voice, and her delightful laugh.

"I will think about you every day, as we shared birthdays, in the same month, only days apart. I will always pray for you, your spirit, and your family. God is Blessing you now my Dear Jan; for allowing me, and the world, to experience your true love of friendship. May we both see each other in heaven, where you are now.

I have been into Vixen since their very first album. Till this day, I love listening to these wonderful melodic yet crafty songs. Jan's passing marks a devastating loss for the whole world of rock and all people who loved and still do love her. Rest In Peace, precious Vixen Angel, you will be sadly missed.

My wife is Norwegian, and has large, big beautiful hands like Janice. Kuehnemund was a Libra like myself. But had huge beautiful, meaty, hands like my Sagittarian. Explains how she was capable of being thee greatest guitarist that ever existed. Boys or girls. Bar none. Without exception. Forget the Jimmy Pages...Jan was the best.

I remain committed to Jan's memory for so many reasons. She is in my opinion, the greatest guitarist to date. All historical males fail in comparison to Jan. Jan had the power in her hands,(fingers) arms and mind well beyond. As in given spirit.

I was very saddened to learn of Jan's passing earlier this year. I bought Rev It Up back in 1993 and it's been a firm favourite of mine ever since. I didn't realise until I looked into Vixen's history that they started back in the early 70's. It's massively to Jan's credit that she stuck it out for so long before finally landing a record deal.

And to go on and enjoy chart success and do stadium tours was a spectacular achievement. Kudos to you Jan (and the other Vixens) for being among life's doers and making stuff happen!

To her family and friends: I do hope that you're coming to terms with losing beautiful Jan and that you can take comfort in knowing how much pleasure her work will continue to give to those who appreciate melodic, well-crafted rock music.

One of the finest female guitar players in history !!! Just found out very late of her passing. Very very sad, I myself have played guitar for 40 years and I never got tired of hearing Jan play. Her solos will be forever timeless in the halls of rock and roll !! Rest well oh sweet sister of music, maybe one day we will play together in Heaven !! I just found out about her passing today online, and was very upset to know she was gone. Her guitar work was a huge influence to me, and to this day I still listen to the music of Vixen. I regret never having gotten to see her play live, but she is and will always be a powerhouse musician that made the guitar come alive. Rest in Peace Janice, and my condolences to the family and friends that knew her.
