Joan M. GOEBEL

Age 84, of Hastings Passed away January 4, 2019 She was born in Hastings to Miles and Ruth Panek on Feb. 13, 1934. Joan was raised in Hastings and moved to East Cottage Grove after marrying the love of her life, Alvin Goebel who she was married to for 66 years. They raised their two children and returned to Hastings after they left home. She worked outside the home at Regina Hospital Residence for around 15 years. Joan remained close to her childhood friends. She was a classy lady devoted to her family and generous to all. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Miles & Ruth Panek; and her brother Richard. She is survived by her husband, Alvin; son, Michael (Karen); daughter, Donna (John) Perkins; her grandchildren, Stacy Goebel, Ryan (Julie) Goebel, Danyll (Mike) Mills, Dara Wolf, & Durant Grussing; and great-grand-children, Nolen, Tyler, Michaela, Andy & Ali. A funeral service will be held on Saturday (1/19) at 11:30 AM at Cottage Grove United Church of Christ, 7008 Lamar Ave S. in Cottage Grove. A visitation will be held from 9:30-11:30 AM at church. A luncheon will be provided immediately following the funeral. Private interment, Cottage Grove Cemetery.
