Kathleen SALWASSER Obituary

Passed away peacefully at the Our Lady of Peace Hospice Home on June 20, 2021 at the age of 83. Preceded in death by her parents, Anne and Howard Jespersen; her siblings, Lucille, Geraldine, and Howard; and her husband of 45 years, Bob. Survived by her sister, Mary Louise; her children, Howard, Mary Kay (Jay), Barb, Anne, and Bob Jr.; her grand children, Bonnie (John), Raymond, and Jillian; and her great-grand children, Christian, Robert, Greyson and Robert. Also by many relatives & friends. Visitation Monday, June 28th from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Church of St. Bernard's, 187 Geranium Ave., St. Paul, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Private interment will be held at Oakland Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the Our Lady of Peace Hospice Home.

Maybe 10 years ago my daughter Bonnie called me and said you need to call grandma... She is breathing funny. I called mom and she was having a hard time breating and i told her i was going to take her to the doctor. She actually said ok.. Called the doc and said take her straight to the hospital. I took her to St Johs...no signing in and they took her straight to the ER. She was diagnosed with COPD and emphozema.... Stayed the for a time and the went to Roselawn. When she was able to leave Roselawn she would be going home on oxygen. When she got home we had the oxygen people come to the house to explain how to work the machine. I remember that day like it was yesterday...all kids were there and all of a sudden Howard spoke up who had been behind us and said pretty much he needed to be up front is he was going to be in charge! He took such great care of mom for a long time! I am so proud of him for stepping up making sure that he and i made sure she had her therapies at home we set. We had a calendar for meds...all her therapies...ect. I think he would make someone a GREAT nursing assistant. love you Howie for being there for mom!!!!!! I love all my siblings for all that we did for make mom comfy!!!

I miss my mom so much. We talked about every day. On my way to work mom would call me to see if i was on my way...knowing that i was....just wanting to talk...
