Thank you Annette and Joe for sharing your most amazing little girl and her battle with childhood cancer. This experience has left me with a deeper feeling for God and a better understanding of why. Annette and Joe must be two of the most amazing parents to have held up their family and marriage through the roughest of storms. Out of that storm came a beautiful rainbow named Malia who will remind us of her undying presence even though she is in heaven with her creator.

I have heard about Malia through Stacy Hanson, on facebook. I lost my newborn son about 9 years ago and during that time my brother-in-law wrote a comforting poem. The words had to be from God himself because no human could have come up with such a powerful message. Sadly, my brother-in-law unexpectedly died almost 2 years ago and now sees our Bradley. I say all this because i would love to share the poem with you, which i have mentioned to Stacy. It gives me a feeling of joy to be able to know, that through the death of my son, a family might find comfort in words written. As soon as I can I will give the poem to Stacy. I know that there are few words that can ease the pain of your family so just know that I will ask for God to bring you all, continual comfort not just now but for months and years to come.

Miss Malia changed hearts and formed relationships that were so very much in the likeness of Jesus. How blessed I am to have learned so many life lessons from her. My heart aches alongside you and also rejoices in the fact that we will all have that mountaintop gathering together one day. Much love, BIG hugs...

Dearest Peterson Family~

Words cannot express the hurt I have in my heart for you all. You don't know me, but I have followed Malia's story for a very long time.
