Hey, Grandma I miss you so much! Every 5 minutes someboby tell me how much I look like you and it give me a smile. The other day I was watching that tape of us in Montago, Bay and I laughed so hard at us dancing and you telling me to get out there and start being scared and I went and did my thing and I just wanted you to know I Love and Miss you!

My sister, no words have been created to express how much I love you. You have been my heart and lifeline for so long. You touched all that came in contact with you in a way that allowed each of us to change our weakness' into our strengths, our ignorance into knowledge, our frowns into smiles, and expand our circle which is called family. I shall treasure each memory of you and strive to continue your service of building community and connecting people from where they are to where they have been created to be. Peace and love to our heavenly angel Mari. Your sister in faith, Lori

I only met Mari once--and I never forgot her! It was a few years ago on Nicollet Mall during some jazz/blues fest. I saw this wonderful woman, dressed like a clown and eating a plate of ribs. I thought, 'who is this?' After she finished eating, she pulled out some gear and started blowing up baloons, and the children began swarming. She did some face painting, too. I was as fascinated by her as were the kids, and had to talk with her. It was then she told me of her cancer and how she wanted to do this, wanted to do something that mattered, something that would bring joy to people. She said she hoped the cancer wouldn't return. I hoped it wouldn't either, but it did. I'm sorry she passed, but in that brief instance, I know I was in the presence of one of God's angels!

You've exchanged your clown gear for a white robe and wings - fly high girl, fly high. Your legacy is etched in the lives of the community that will miss you terribly.
Mari planted seeds in fertile soil so Cater on children, and do continue to clown around Carmel and friends.
My prayers continue for God's love and peace.

Hershey(Mari) never liked that up-side-down frown. Therefore, she bing a clown,in all, would stand tall...go the extra mile...to flip that brow...into a smile. She would smiled through the rain and she would smiled through the pain and now, she smiles in heaven for all to see...the sunshine of her life...as it comforts me. Hershey, thank you for making me smile during my darkest hours. I will miss you... With all my love...Ms. Vy

At times like this it hurts to see friends leave us to soon. But it is refreshing to know that Mari's pain and suffering is no more. We all must know that earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. We all must be strong in the Lord. God bless to everyone and keep trusting God. Mari will be missed, but she certainly is in a better place. Only God knows the answers to the many questions we ask.
Peace and love,

The Family of Mari:
I've known Mari for a LONG time (since Maxfield Elementary). She was one of the first students who welcomed me with open arms. I can understand why she chose being a clown because she always loved making people laugh, happy and feel very special.
I miss her terribly already but we must dwell on those GREAT moments we shared with her and continue to "clown around" because I KNOW this is what her wish would be.
Thanks to all the inspiration she rewarded me...you are at a better place and making your new generation happy....God Bless And Keep YOU!!!
You will always remain within my heart...
