Marilyn FREIER Obituary

nee Strom Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother Age 81, of Saint Paul, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2014. Reunited with her beloved husband, Herbert E. Freier. Dear mother of David (Genevieve), St. Paul and Daniel (Jerri), Roseville; devoted Grandmother (Mema) of Stephen (Jamie), Elizabeth, Magdalena and Edward. Also survived by sister, Shirley Hooker, St. Paul; sisters-in-law, Sadie Freier and Esther Conrad of South Dakota, and many nieces and nephews. Marilyn was a dedicated member of Central Presbyterian Church. She worked enthusiastically on the Restoration and Remodeling Committee for the beautiful renovation of the historic church. Marilyn shared her love and hospitality through her visitation work, as well as decorating the sanctuary, making the church feel like home. She was also a talented floral arranger and bow maker, making every occasion an event with her creations. She and Herb loved gardening and traveling. It is safe to say they saw most of the world together. Marilyn cherished her family and friends. She never missed an occasion to send a card or make a phone call, brightening the day of whom she reached. Marilyn adored being a grandmother. Her devotion to her grandchildren shone in her faithful presence at concerts, plays, birthdays, graduations, a wedding, and every sporting event in which they participated. Marilyn's earthly presence will be missed, but her faith-filled spirit will always be with us. Visitation at Anderson Funeral Home, 140l N. Arcade St., St. Paul, on Wednesday, November 12th from 4pm to 8pm and at the church, one hour prior to the service. A funeral service will be held at Central Presbyterian Church, 500 Cedar Street, St. Paul, MN on Thursday, November 13th at 11am. Private interment at Acacia Park Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Central Presbyterian Church, Epilepsy Foundation, American Diabetes Association, or American Cancer Society.

To the entire Freier Family: It was such an honor to be at the service today to celebrate the life of Marilyn. She was a grand lady, yet humble, who gave so much to others. She would have been very proud today of all of you. It was very touching to hear the tributes by Dave and her grandchildren. I have many fond memories of Marilyn that I will cherish. God Bless You All. Gregg Scherer

To Marilyn's family: You won't remember me, but my husband worked at 3M with your Dad and we were together with Marilyn and Herb quite often. We helped each other when moving into our houses. I send my sympathy to you. I know live in Sioux Falls, SD. Joyce Olson
