Marty Foss was my best friend, growing up in Litchfield. I regret that we did not stay in touch, and I am sad to hear of his passing.

Just learned at our 55th class reunion that Marty died on my birthday, two weeks before my accident. I get a smile on my face every time I think about him over the years. He was a sweetheart, unique and I think a Godly man. He was truly a good person. He, also, was a lot of fun to be around, and funny. May you rest in Peace, dear Marty, and may Gloria and the family experience Jesus love, guidance and peace for each of them.

Although I didn't know Marty personally, we have many memories of the Foss Family from the early years, growing up in Litchfield. Mr. & Mrs. Foss were always known for being active in their church, St. Philips Catholic Church, and in the community. They were supporting and loving guides to their many children, who carried on their tradition of loving service to their family, friends, and community. Tom was in my class; Theresa & Bernadette(was in my brother, Bill Shoultz, class. All went on to live lives that reflected their parent's values. We were fortunate to grow up in a community and time where these attributes could be nurtured. Marty certainly was living proof of this, sharing his love with others. We look forward to seeing you at the Service for Marty on Saturday at Calvary(St. Philip's Cemetery). Did Marty like Lutefisk, being the good Norske that he was?

A prized possession of mine is a bust of Shakespeare that Marty got for me when I graduated from Willmar Junior College. He was a good friend.

I had the great honor of Marty substituting in the classroom I work in at Bridgeview. He was very kind and gentle with both the children and the staff. He was a great attribute to the St. Paul public school system. My father also worked alongside him within the St. Paul public schools as they both taught special needs children. He will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to the family and prayers and love to all that loved him.
