I had the honor of meeting and working with Mary and her husband years agon on the issue of refugees at the Newman Center. We later learned that she and my auntie had been good friends as children. Mary was an original and ever so kind and patient. She was ever inspiring with her action and caring. She will be missed and this world feels a bit more empty. Jennifer Doyle

I feel the great loss of both Mary and Nick even from a distance. I had not seen them for many years, but they have been present in my mind as exemplary witnesses of the love of Christ. Peace to Mary and her family. May she reap the reward of a life so well lived.

Though I have not seen Mary for years, I am morning her passing. She (and her colleagues on the Peace Studies Task Force) played a very significant role in my life.

In 1983 PSTF hired me to work for them for a year doing peace education work and promoting the text they had written about conscience and the draft. When the PSTF disbanded, it was in part through Mary and Nick's connections that I got hired at Cretin High School, now Cretin-Derham Hall, where I have been doing peace and justice education for thirty years. Mary's legacy lives on at least in part through the thousands of students with whom I was able to share something of her passion for justice.

I am so grateful to Mary and Nick and to the other members of the PSTF. Thank you. And all my best wishes to the kids and grandkids.

Dear Eoloff's, I am so sorry to hear about your wonderful Mom. I take some comfort in knowing they are with my Mom and Dad now. We sure lucked out when it came to parents. If you can believe all of the Harris kids will be out of town this weekend in Colorado for Anne's birthday. Jonathan I am sad to miss seeing you. I bet your Mom and Dad gave a whole new meaning to the phrase went straight to heaven- I am sure it was rocket speed. The world needs more people like them. What hero's. Sending lots of Love - Jamie Harris Flynn (Jim and Joanne's favorite daughter)

Nick and Mary were among the bravest and most nonviolent people I knew, and I couldn't visualize one without the other. I'm happy they're together again.

My prayers are for their family; biological, adopted, and chosen--as they miss these two extraordinary people.

You were the best Mom-in-law I could have asked for. We had many lively talks on issues of spirit & peacefully raising children. I'll never forget you & all that I learned from you.

Mary prayed each Sunday that we would come to live the non-violence that Jesus taught. Mary lived Peace and we were all beneficiaries of her witness with Nick to the radical call of Jesus. Rest in Peace dear Mary. Millie and Terry Dosh
