When I first brought my bride to be to Minnesota to meet my family, Gordy and Mary so graciously agreed to let Shirley stay with them. Mary had always wanted to get an ostrich egg to hollow out and put on her mantle above the fireplace. It just so happened that the como park zoo had an ostrich lay an egg during the time Shirley was staying with the Palzers. Mary had left notice with the zoo department that if there was ever a chance for her to get an ostrich egg to please call her, which they did. I helped Mary drill a hole in one end of the egg and she used a large hypodermic needle to suck out all the yolk and egg white. Mary then scrambled the entire egg contents for a breakfast for four. We stuffed ourselves but only manged to eat about 2/3rds of one egg.

Mike and family,
I am sorry for your loss. I enjoyed every chance I got to meet with Mary. She was always so friendly and interesting and made my day just that much better.

Mary: From those of us who are saddened by your physical departure, thank you! ... For your sharing your gift of sharing your wonderful gift of and appreciation of music, thank you (although I'm sure the choir of angels and saints are thrilled to have someone of your talent join them; but most of all, for helping the Father and His Son bring about the coming of the Kingdom of God to the rest of us.
Gordy and Family: know that each of you will be in our prayers as you move forward... . Lou, Lori Jungbauer, and Family, and the multitudes of Friends from TC Cursillo...
