Michael Douglas COX

Age 73, of Hugo Formerly of New Brighton, and Naples, FL Passed away peacefully on December 23, 2020 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Preceded in death by his parents, Mel and Ruth Cox, and nephew Robert Cox. Survived by loving wife of 52 years Karen, beloved daughters Laurie (Paul) Lapadat, Jennifer (Erik) Karni and Katie (Spencer) Thomas. Survived by adoring grandchildren Ryan (Taylor), Sam and Daniel Lapadat, Emma, Nickolas and Finn Karni, Ava and Parker Thompson, Cash and Zahra Thomas. Also survived by precious great grandchildren Vincent and Frank Lapadat. Michael is also survived by brothers Gary (Tonya), Craig (Sharon) and David (Cathy) Cox; sister Barbara (Steven) Wolter; lifelong friends Jim and Diane Erdman; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends. All who knew him were touched by his kindness, generosity, and compassionate nature. His family was his greatest source of pride and joy! His quiet faith guided him through his life. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. Services will be held at a later date when family and friends can gather safely.
