What precious memories I have of this beautiful lady! So many lessons she taught me as a young wife and mother. I was instantly accepted by her as one of the family and I cherished her love and companionship. We spent so much time together. The love of Jesus shined through in everything she did! You couldn't truly know her without seeing Christ in her. She taught, she shared all she had, she rejoiced daily, she loved, and important to me, she was gracious and forgave. I loved her always and am grateful to know she returned that love as she'd expressed in a few cherished cards. I am thankful she is not suffering any more and that she is Home and dancing with Jesus!
My prayers and deep love to all the Magler's and Swansons as you mourn the loss of this wonderful lady!

Dear Nancy,
I wanted to write you a letter, to let you know how much your life has impacted mine! I had a difficult and painful childhood, but you and Dick were a beacon of light to me. You gave me hope and direction and love, which have remained with me until this day. I know God has used you greatly in many people's lives to bless them or lead them to Him, but I know, especially mine! And now your life because of Christ and through me is impacting my own kids' lives for eternal good.
Nancy, you taught me by example, loving me and teaching me a lot of who I am today. First of all I remember outings to your farm and how you loved to serve, to help people have a refreshing time on your hobby farm and to serve them elaborate and delicious meals! I still remember the delicious home-cooked smells of your home, and whenever I smell similar smells, I think of you. I remember Dick and you working together as a team and looking out for me and my siblings- a loving marriage that dramatically drew me to imitate. Hayrides that Dick would give by driving the tractor is still a favorite activity of mine today. In fact, I always seem drawn to farms I long to live on a hobby farm of our own to give Wayne and my kids a similar amazing experience I had a child. Wayne and I were married at Gale Woods Educational Farm outdoors, and had our reception in the barn. Keziah's birthdays have all been farm themed, and Kidron's first was camping outdoors. I believe I appreciate the outdoors so much because you took so much delight in God's creation and influenced me alike!
And then there is the gardening I love to plant and the satisfaction of watching something grow and produce food to nourish my family. You actually taught me how to do that. The flower gardens you worked so hard on were beautiful, and though I appreciate flowers and plant a few, I definitely do not have the green and many colored thumb that you had :D However, I do the best I can Wayne and I built raised garden beds mostly for vegetables - bordering our front lawn which is showcased for the whole neighborhood right in the middle of the city. It has given us many opportunities to interact with neighbors and be a light for Christ to them! And then to can and preserve a lost art, I have learned from you and it is such a blessing to my family! To cook hearty and healthy meals, as a way to bless and serve has stuck with me whenever I host, or daily with my own family.
Then I remember Oakdale Bible time and the animals for petting you always brought, the way you loved to teach and care for children I love to teach kids about Jesus and be creative because of your example! So many times people have been so blessed by the unique ways I impact kids, and I know I learned that from you Thank you Nancy, for all the amazing serving gifts that you imparted to me! You took the time to take me under your wing, and invest Christ's love and wisdom into my life, and I want to let you know that it has definitely not been in vain, and I am sure you are enjoying great reward in heaven!
Your strawberry decorations and dishes are all over my kitchen. Our kitchen is painted green a perfect backdrop for all those strawberries a continual reminder of you. No kidding! I am often thinking of you when I see those strawberries and have told my friends about you and the impact you have had in my life! I have just two of your strawberry dinner plates and they are Keziah and my favorite ones to eat on, every time, remembering you, Nancy, a servant of God who tirelessly gave herself so others would be blessed and know Christ intimately!
Your trinkets, especially sheep and horses are on the mantle, underneath my favorite Psalm 23 Farm painting I painted at age 21. I remember how much you liked sheep because of their connection to us being like sheep and Jesus being our good shepherd. Even an antique sheep on a wooden platform with wheels and a string to pull, an antique doll you gave me, a decorative wooden rocking horse, and doll chairs that used to be in your parlor, and that you never let us touch for fear of breaking them I actually let my kids play with them and they love them literally to pieces :D We just glue them back together and the kids continue to play with them again! As the old saying goes, you'd probably turn over in your grave if you saw that, However, I know that you now are actually quite delighted that they bring so much pleasure to little ones, since they are only temporal compared to your perspective now! :D
I treasure your large wooden rocking horse and the matching lamp and the kids just love riding it. We have it downstairs where our walls are paneled with wood, much like your home, and every time I am downstairs, I feel like I am home, because you and Dick made it home for me, with your showering of gifts (I still have the sleeping bag you gave me, the kitty trinkets because you knew how much I liked kittens, and precious moments trinkets.) and love and wisdom of God. I will never forget you, in fact I always remember you, and am so thankful to have had your example in following Christ with all my heart because that is my highest aim and goal today!
You loved God and people and infused me with that love. I still remember you always saying or writing cards to us, Jesus loves you and so do we! Nancy, you and Dick are the best Grandparents in the world to me, and I thank God so very much for you! :D
With much love and hugs, can't wait to see you again in heaven one day!

Nancy was a lovely lady and I have great memories of going to their farm. When Wendy and I were in junior high, I would be invited over there and she always made me feel so welcomed. She was always so upbeat and happy- you could tell she loved Jesus and wanted others to know Him through her. She had a great smile and used it a lot!

Sometimes she would invite the whole Reedy family over to eat with them. Our numbers didn't seem to bother her, she shared what she had and she was a good cook. She introduced us to potato fingers and I still make them for my family and I always think of her when I have them.

I especially admire the example of marriage that she and Dick had. What a commitment to each other and what love! You just can't help but smile when you remember the two of them together.

Some of the better photos I have taken of grandma in recent years, her favorite verse, and a butterfly (those which she loved so much).

Words cannot describe the sadness we feel when you lose someone close, but now Grandma is in a better place where Alzheimers doesn't exist and the gardens are always green. Already miss you but can't wait to see you on the other side someday. Rest in peace Grandma Nancy.

Auntie Nancy was a wonderfully strong woman of God. She helped lead me to ask Jesus into my heart when I was a little girl at Oakdale Baptist Church vacation bible school. I remember that day just like it was yesterday. She and uncle Dick have been a big part of my faith! We have had many good memories going to church and having a twist cone or Rainbows brat and pop after church. There have been many sleepovers, pony rides, weeding in the garden, hay rides, pancakes with chocolate chips, and horse shows. Auntie Nancy and I both shared a love for horses - my favorite part going out to her house to see Cricket, Velvet and Caleb. We all will miss her beautiful smile, her wonderful cooking, and that signature whistle. I am happy Auntie Nancy is with her Heavenly Father, free from pain, and can dance and sing like an angel. I am happy to know that one day I will see her again along with all of my other relatives that have passed on . We will miss you very much

My thoughts and prayers to the entire Magler Family. Mrs. Magler was an amazing woman and will forever be a part of my childhood memories growing up. Spent many hours on the Magler Farm helping with her gardening, canning, the animals and what I'll always remember most is how amazing she was as a Christian. We all know she went to Heaven!

Mrs. Magler was a pillar of my childhood. I loved growing up next door to her and visiting her and Mr. Magler. They gave us our sweet cat of 17 years, Morris, the best halloween candy on the block, and a lifetime of memories to cherish. I am so sorry to hear of her passing and will be thinking of the family during this difficult time.

The hardest day of my life was saying see you later to my Grandma .... She is the best grandma anyone could ever ask for. She's now pain free and dancing and singing with the rest of the angels in heaven... So many great memories; pony rides, strawberry patches, digging up potatoes, naps in the hay loft, feeding baby lambs at all hours of the night, homemade cream puffs, always singing and whistling and I will never forget her beautiful smile and hugs. Little grace was sobbing in her bed the other night after we got home from visiting Grandma and I explained to her that we can be sad that we will miss her and that its ok to cry but that it's selfish for us to want to keep her here with us when she can go to heaven and be pain free and walk, dance, and talk again and that if we ever miss her we need to remember even though we can't see or touch her she can see us and is always watching over us. She said "mom will she be with Brutis our dog and is he not sick anymore either?" I said yes and then went on to explain all I see in her that reminds me of grandma she loves to garden, sing, help others, whistle etc blows me away how much they're alike. In helping her cope it also helped me to remember that its not good bye its not the end its see you later as we all know Grandma is in heaven watching down on all of us just waiting to dance with us

We met Dick and Nancy, me and my seven small children did, at a time when we truly needed "out-in-the-country" visits with "adopted" grandparents. We didn't know of that need, but God did, and as soon as we encountered each other, they snapped us up, "adopting" us wholeheartedly. They shepherded us through the rest of my children's childhood and teenage years, and I am forever grateful.

Thinking of how much your mother/grandmother/wife has been so so dear to your hearts. So thankful that you know you will be with her again through faith in the finished work of the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. May you come to know the Lord's comfort in the days ahead. Much love and compassion to all of you. ~Doug and Kathy Haider

My Grandma was perhaps my first and best friend in the whole wide world. No one will ever have a sparkle in their eyes like her, no one will dance around playing the accordion or whistle while doing the dishes quite like her. No ones house could ever smell quite as delicious, no one could pull off pure beauty while constantly having little sweat beads on their top lip... So many things I have missed for years while watching the disease called Alzheimer ravage her physical self. I never imagined letting go would be so hard. Holding onto the memories, the lessons you taught, the songs you sang, the love you showed so willingly. My peace is found in knowing where you are, and that you can finally do and talk and dance again, and in the knowing that last night there was a joyous celebration and long awaited reunion for you in the clouds. I love you grandma. Until we meet again.
