Patrick H. O'CONNOR

Age 77 of Plymouth, MN Passed away Friday, September 17th peacefully at home surrounded by family. Long time Hennepin County Auditor/Treasurer, Recorder, Surveyor and Deputy Registrar, Chair of the  University of Minnesota Hennepin County Extension Advisory Committee and  former Board Chair of City  County Federal Credit Union. Following his retirement from Hennepin, he implemented Rank Choice Voting as Director of Elections for Minneapolis. Additionally he was Auditor/Treasurer and Manager of Ramsey County. Pat graduated from the University of Minnesota. While serving  in the  US Navy, was a  graduate of  the Defense Language Institute. Tours of duty included Okinawa, Japan and Taipei, Taiwan.  Preceded in death by parents Hebert G. O'Connor and Leone Loftdahl O'Connor. Survived by best friend and wife of 50 years, Beverly Patterson O'Connor, children Nathan (Sarah) O'Connor of Minnetonka, Ryan (Jenny) O'Connor of Stillwater, Lauren (Nick) Dwyer of Maple Grove and his six favorite grandchildren, Caitlin O'Connor,  Alli  and Avery Dwyer, George, Brody and Peyton O'Connor, two brothers Tom (Diane) O'Connor of Cumberland, WI and Rick (Joan Bellin) O'Connor of Duluth, six nieces and nephews and one surviving aunt, Marge Loftdahl of Duluth. Pat and Bev were fortunate to travel the world and met many good friends along the way. Time up north was spent caring  for an old log place, enjoying  time with friends and sharing  his woodworking skills with the grandkids. Special thanks to  Dr. Bryan Trottier, MD and team at Park Nicollet Frauenshuh Cancer Center and the Methodist Hospital Hospice team. Memorials  suggested to either, in his name. Private  celebration of life planned, interment Orono Cemetery, Elk River.
