Peter N. MARCUS

Age 95, of St. Louis Park passed away suddenly on February 25, 2016. Preceded in death by his Loving wife, Lois, parents Jack & Della Marcus, in-laws David & Emma Greenberg, sister-in-law Maxine Lazar Wittgraf, brother-in-law Manuel Swatez and nephew Dr. Ian Swatez. Survived by his incredible sister Helen Swatez; children Barbara (John) Barr, Steven, Larry (Karin Preus), Pamela; grandchildren Sara (Mark) Mekler, Stefani Moon-Maher (Brian), Jonathan Marcus, Stella Marcus, Dana Mekler, David (Cindy) Barr; 6 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson; nieces, nephews, cousins; "adopted daughters" Carlotta Schoch, Barbara Rehren and many dear friends. After graduating from North High he married his "besherit" Lois, they shared 71 loving years together. Peter was a lover of life and a man of great character. He proudly serviced in the US Army Air Corp during WWII. His passion led him to be a professional photographer for the Minneapolis Star and then a freelancer until he was 90. His hobby was classic cars. He helped create the Midwest Chapter of the Classic Car Club of America. Always passionate about music, from Sinatra to Pavarotti. He sang with the ChaiLights from its inception. Peter sang and hummed wherever he went because he felt the music inside him. Extra special thanks to Jennifer and Nick for their extraordinary care giving and love. Funeral service 3pm SUNDAY , Feb. 28 at BETH EL SYNAGOGUE, 5225 Barry St. W., St. Louis Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Dr. Ian Swatez Medical Scholarship Fund at JFCS of Mpls. or the donor's favorite charity. SHIVA.
