Phyllis A. ACKER

1939 - 2023

Age 83, was born on September 15, 1939 to Glenn Acker, Sr. and Ruth (Cropper) Acker in Minneapolis. She died on April 27, 2023 at Sunrise of Golden Valley. Phyllis attended Robbinsdale High School and was a proud Augsburg alum. Phyllis enjoyed her fulfilling career with the American Red Cross, and her involvement with the St. Paul chapter of Zonta – an international service organization with the mission of advancing the status of women. Her many travels brought her to destinations around the world. Phyllis was a proud Norwegian and looked forward to the annual lutefisk dinners! She loved camping, Culvers, theater and books. Phyllis is survived by her brother Keith (Jeannine) Acker, nieces Erin (Jason) Wynne, Elisabeth Acker and great-nephews Grayton and Garrett Wynne. She was predeceased by her parents Glenn and Ruth, her stepmother Helen, her brother Glenn Jr. and her nephew Kurt Acker. A celebration of Phyllis' life will take place on Saturday, May 27 at Grace Lutheran Church, 1730 Old Hudson Road, Saint Paul, MN 55106. Visitation at 10:00 am, service at 11:00 am. Memorials may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church.
