Raymond Dana Obituary

Dana, Raymond E. Age 93, Of St. Paul, Minneapolis, and Sioux Falls Died peacefully April 11. Survived by wife of 67 years Florence, daughter Mary (Joseph) Huber, St. Paul, sons Richard (Nancy), St. Paul, and Charles (Deborah), Alexandria, Va.; grandchildren Marjorie (Charles) Dana-Levine, Charles, Juliet, and Patricia, St. Paul, Susan and Carolyn Huber, St. Paul, Richard, Alexandria, Va., M. Bradford, Rhinebeck, N.Y., and C. Paige, New York City, New York; great grandchildren Howard, Rachel, and Sam Levine, St. Paul; and many cousins, nephews, and nieces. Born in Armour, S. D., November 4, 1914, to Ruel E. and Ellen Moore Dana. Attended Hartford High School and Augustana College, and graduated from the University of South Dakota Law School. Started law practice in Sioux Falls in 1939. Married Florence Pearson of Hartford in 1940. Proudly served in Army Intelligence in Europe 1942-45. Returned to Sioux Falls to practice law, eventually being senior partner in the law firm Dana, Golden, Moore, and Rasmussen. Was recognized for practicing law for over 50 years. Served 4 terms in the South Dakota State Legislature. Moved to Minneapolis in 1966 for a career in insurance, banking, and real estate. Never retired. Member of St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral, Mpls., for past 32 years. Preceded by parents and siblings Alice (Frank) Moore, Charles (Nita), Clarence (Betty), Harvey, and Lee Dana. Service Wednesday, April 16 at 2:00p.m at St. Mark's, 519 Oak Grove St., Mpls. Memorials to St. Mark's or donor's choice.
