Richard B. Shaller
Passed away at age 83 Friday August 19, 2011 at United Hospital surrounded by his family. Preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Adele Shaller and brother, Kenneth. Survived by loving wife and best friend of 60 years, Rossy; children, Steve and Michelle Shaller and Scott and Cabrini Shaller and step-grandson, Justin Johnson; greatest Poppa to 4 granddaughters, Samantha, Stacey, Jenifer and Ana. Also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and by best pal, Lucas. Dick was owner/operator of Big Wheel Rossi Auto parts chain from 1965-1999. After selling the company he became active in commercial real estate. He was passionate about his business and never missed a day at his office. He felt very fortunate in life and was wonderfully generous to the community and his family. He lived a full and happy life and will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched. Thank you to United Hospital for the wonderful care he received. Funeral service TUESDAY August 23, 2011 at 11AM at TEMPLE OF AARON SYNAGOGUE, 616 S. Mississippi River Blvd., St. Paul. Dear Rossy, Steve and Scott (and the extended Shaller family), I am so sorry to hear that Dick passed away. If I had heard earlier I would have come to the service. It came up in conversation when I was talking to someone about where I had worked in the past, and I was shocked by the news. Dick was a wonderful boss and such a nice family man. I think fondly of him and the old BWR gang, and whenever someone sings "Happy Birthday" his voice still rings in my ears with a "Many more" at the end of singing. Heaven has an awsome angel, although I think they already have a "Big Cheese" up there, maybe he can still keep the title.

Shaller Family,
I was shocked to hear of Dick's passing. As Steve and Scott know I had the best time dealing or shall I say listen to Dick in his real estate search here in Milwaukee. Dick was a mentor to me not only real estate but also in life and i will miss him. My condolonces

Dick Shaller was like one of those moments in time that you just didn't want to go away. He infused his life, business, Rossi, and his sons Scott and Steve and others with his infectious zest for life and living.
I always enjoyed my time spent at Big Wheel with the family, Marc Hasko and gang at the helm. How lucky to have been a part of those great times to 1999. May God bless each and every one of you and especially the Shaller family at this time.

I knew Dick when I was the building official for the city of West St Paul. Dick had bought a shopping center and I must say it was my pleasure to work with him. Very cooperative and fun to talk to about business and family. I will sure miss him and his smiling face. I got a big kick out of the old guns he kept in his office in West St Paul. My prayers are with you.

Rossy and family---I'm so sorry to hear of Dicks' passing. Sometimes we can't understand the plans God has for us. What a beautiful life you and Dick created for the two of you and also your boys and their families!!!! You can be sooooo proud of your time together. Dick was such a wonderfully, warm smiling generous person, who always greated me with a big hug 'n kiss just as you do Rossy whenever we saw each other. Dick will be greatly missed by many.
