I met Dick when I was assigned to work the Kitchen at the Prison back in 79-80. We became friends over the years, everyday that I worked I would make a point to go to the Kitchen and see Dick. We would sit and chat for a while , talk a lot about fishing. When ever the prison was on lockdown and we would have to pass out TV dinners to the inmates Dick would always make sure there would always be extra for the staff. Dick was a friend to everyone who knew him. Dick and I continued to text back and forth after we retired. Rest easy my friend hope you have a TV dinner ready for me when we see each other again.

"Don´t forget me " A direct quote from Dick to me. My response "are you kidding?" After a 48-49 year relationship with him, and for those of us that knew him, how could we ever forget this blessing of a guy? The guy who dressed in a full Santa costume to hand out popcorn and tiny loaves of pumpkin bread. He did all this for the inmates. They loved him. Then there are those of us who received those wonderful homemade candies. I got extra turtles in my box when he found out they were my favorite.Every year, I got a Christmas gift, even though I asked him not to send me one.
I am forever grateful and truly blessed to have known this wonderful man, Dick Voss, he has been a gift to us all.
Vicky and family, thank you for sharing him with us. I pray that Dick doesn´t forget my extra turtles when we meet again. Dick, rest in peace love you.

Dick was more than a colleague but a good friend. Always fun to talk to and be around. He was always more than willing to help out with any issue that came about. Even after we both retired we wrote back and forth. He was a good man who lived his faith. We are diminished by his loss.
