I remember Rick’s joyful spirit and what a great person he was to work with. Many memories from our
days at the Vikings. This made me sad to see - sending love to Rick’s family.

Just learned of Ricks passing. He lived next door to us growing up. Him and his sisters deb, Vicki and Pammy and my siblings And I played together every day. He used to come to our cabin with us.
I recall playing red rover in their side yard on Victoria st.. He sure found his life’s work and reached the top of his profession. I’m one of the few people who ever learned to spell his last name. He was a great guy and we spent many good years as friends and neighbors. He will be missed!

My deepest heart felt sympathy goes out to Barb, Nic, Jessi, and the entire Kolodziej Family.
I had the distinct pleasure of working with Rick for many years.
We would spend time together on road trips, and really got to build a strong realtionship.
Rick was always one to help other people out, with His unique talent of photography.
I had the pleasure of having Rick do his wonders with Our Christmas card photos, and softball pictures for many years.
Rick was a TRUE Professional, and really put everything He had into His work.
Rest in Peace my Brother, and may Your soul, and all of the souls of the faithfully departed Rest in Peace.
To the entire Kolodziej Family, I pray that Gods healing hands reach out, and comfort You during these trying times.
RIP Rick.

I knew Rick through Darlene and family. We shared a passion for photography. The wonderful things mentioned by others here are what anyone would wish would be said of themselves. Rick was one of a kind. I join others in sending solace to all the family for your loss of Rick. May sweet memories of you with him in his short time here bring you some amount of comfort.

I never met Rick, but wish I had by all the nice things being said about him. Sounds like you were a lucky woman, Barb.

My thoughts and prayers continue to be with you at this time. I work at a monastery and have put Rick’s name on the prayer board. Twenty-two nuns are praying for him and you and your family.

May he Rest In Peace. Way too young to go. I guess God needed another angel up there.

Love and peace to you and your family.

Rick is a HUGE part of Vikings history. We worked closely together and sat together on the team charters for road games. I have so many wonderful memories of Rick and to remember him, all I need to do is look at the memories he captured. I have many photos up at my home and the BEST ones Rick snapped the photo. It's very hard to believe he is gone. I loved the man and his amazing talents along with a wonderful family. The VIkings are so lucky to have had him part of their rich history. You can't write the history of the vikings without Rick Kolodziej! His team pictures from 1981-2014 will live forever along with his many moments frozen in time from his cameras. He had a beautiful heart was always happy and easy going. He is one person I can think of that made us all smile!

Rick was one of the nicest, caring and hardest working people I have had the pleasure of knowing. He always greeted everyone with a smile even when you could see that he didnt feel well. I enjoyed our conversations and his storytelling. The world has lost another great one! My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.

He was one of the nicest human beings I ever knew. He took me under his arm and taught me how to be a NFL photographer. We shot over 300 games together from 1989-2014. Your professional sports photos were the best. You will go down as one of the Best Photographer of all time. Thank You Rick, RIP you will be missed. Your friend Steve Rohlf.

Rick was eternally positive. No matter the situation, he could smile his way through it. When I started working with him, he was one of the only people I would talk to. I was terrified of all the newness of WHCC, but Rick was so welcoming and kind, I couldnt help but start a conversation. We would sit there running through our morning duties, and ramble away! He talked about his family so much, that I felt I loved them through his eyes. He would encourage my love of animals and wed share all of the documentaries wed watched and how fascinating our world was. And anytime he brought in a baked good for breakfast, hed offer me a bite. He was pure sunlight that lit up my day. He made me feel loved, and that is the best thing a person can do. The world is a little darker without him. To his family, I cant express how sorry I am for your loss. Please know that he loved you all so dearly. God bless.
