Dr. Robert "Bob" TITZLER

1939 - 2023

Age 83 Peacefully left this earth on May 13, 2023 and joined his loving wife Mimi in the next life. Born June 28, 1939 in the Bronx, New York, NY to Martha Bauchwitz and Peter Titzler who predeceased him, Bob was a lover of academics, attending City College, NY, Duke University, and Columbia College of Medicine, receiving his MD. On May 28, 1967, Bob married Miriam Olson whom he met while working at Camp Sharparoon in upstate NY. Together, they raised two daughters, led a life well lived, and fulfilled a dream of designing and building a north woods cabin at which many incredible family memories have been made. Bob spent his career as a General Practitioner, working for Floyd County Comprehensive Health Program in Wheelwright KY, Rutgers University NJ, Mercy Hospital Anoka MN and Group Health Inc of MN. In retirement, he worked part-time covering for physicians on leave. Bob volunteered his time and talents to New York City Mission Society; Peace corps in Ijebu-Ode, Nigeria and Monrovia, Liberia; Hands on America, Biloxi MS (post-Hurricane Katrina); Rural Hospital Doctors, Dimitrov Russia; Methodist Mission, India; Audubon Society; Sherburne Wildlife Refuge; and Wisconsin Citizen Scientists. An avid birder, Bob loved the outdoors and cherished time spent teaching his children and grand children a love and appreciation for nature. A gift for which they are forever grateful. Preceded in death by his wife Miriam, and siblings Charlotte, Claire and Freddy; he is survived by daughters Ann (Eric) Singsaas and Meg (Eddie) Krekeler; grandchildren Charlotte and Nate Krekeler; his sister Eileen Wasserman; and several nieces and nephews. Bob was one of a kind and will be missed by many! A Celebration of Life will be held at Centennial United Methodist Church, 2200 W Hillside Ave, St. Paul, MN on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 2pm.
