I have many fond memories of Sherwin baby sitting for Mike, Marie and me on Rome Avenue in Highland Park. Growing up in the 50's, Sherwin liked and owned great cars with fire decals on the side. Sherwin introduced me to country music by letting me listen to "White Lightning" by George Jones and other country hits. I remember that bowling was his passion which he made the center of his life's work.
May many fond memories of Sherwin help ease your sorrow.

when Andy was a bowling instructor at Drkula's, I was at least 7 months pregnant, but took the lessons anyway. My timing was off, so Andy wanted me to NOT have such an exagerated push away for the ball delivery. He would stand next to me on the alley. Well, I pushed away once too often and he slapped the ball right out of my hand and it went behind me!. He wanted me to initiate the swing with more of a drop, I did that and I had the timing we were looking for. I had quite a few 200 games and an occasional 500 series. The child was not born with a bowling ball in her hand, but we thought that it was a possibility because of our frequent time spent at Drkula's.
He gave me a lifetime memory for sure.
My sympathies for the family.

Bev and family, so very sorry to hear of Andys passing. There are so many fun memories of times at the pro shop, during league and at tournaments. I still have pictures from our old Friday night banquets, one is of Andy after being a pie in the face victim.
I could never repay him for all the time he spent with me when I first started bowling professionally. He was a good friend and good man.
May he RIP.
