Kari,
Steve was one of the best guys I've ever known. Pleasant, considerate, helpful to his customers and crew. As his supervisor (at 3M) I got to participate in the camaraderie that eminated from Steve everywhere at work. Steve was a walking / talking example of what a great employee should be. People would regularly stop me in the halls and tell me of some catastrophic mess Steve bailed them out of during the day when I wasn't there. When Steve was taking care of the buildings I supervised - I knew I didn't have a worry in the world.

Whenever I see a big rollercoaster or watch a Laurel and Hardy movie...I think of him. That was his gift to me. I thank him for that. We had many conversations about ACE and the Blockheads chapter he was affiliated with. He was a cool guy and a good friend. I will miss him.

June 23, 2009

Kari-Words will not express our feelings. We will remember all the coaster trips and visiting we did. We will always miss that wonderful laugh. Hope we can get together in the future.
Our condolences to the entire family.
Love
Fred/Darla

I am shocked and very sad to find that Steve, one of the most pleasant people I ever met, has passed on.

I am so sorry, Kari, for your tremendous loss. I will always remember you two as kind, loving and fun to be around. Everytime I see a Laurel and Hardy or Little Rascals film or a Roller Coaster, I will think of you.

I am thankful for such great memories.

Kari,

Steve was one of my favorite people. He had so many talents and interests. Steve had that special smile that made you feel so good. I will miss him.
I am still trying to understand how someone so wonderful will not be with us anymore.
Kari, you and Steve really enjoyed life, and you have to be thankful for all the moments you shared. After you had your battles with Cancer you and Steve lived life for the day. We all should learn from your example.
Even though I will not be there to hold your hand today, I will always be there for you, just call.
Remembering Steve, our friend.

I was shocked to learn of Steve's untimely passing. It has been some time since I've seen Steve and yourselves but I will always treasure Steve's friendship and the memories of Maplewood Jr. High, North St. Paul High School, and the U of M. Steve was a great friend and we had a lot of fun in those days of our youth. Please know that you are all held up in prayer and that it really is a true blessing that Steve is relieved of his worldly pain. Our very best to all of you at this difficult time.

I'm still in shock and so sad, but at least the pain he suffered is gone. I'll always remember him and Carl in costumes at the Sons of the Desert Conventions, and you and Steve on the Cruise Conv. as gangster & flapper.
