Thomas D. CWIKLO

1949 - 2022

Passed away in St. Paul on Dec. 29, 2022 Thomas, "Tommy", "Tom", (to his friends), was born December 1, 1949 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI where he attended St. Lawrence Catholic Grade School and Assumption High School. He served as an altar boy and here his deep love for the Church began. Tommy graduated from St. Thomas University in St. Paul with a degree in English. He had a successful career as an engineer for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company. Upon retirement he opened his own headhunting business, known as the J. David Group. Tommy enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling and cruising with his brother, Bill, to locations far and wide. Tommy enjoyed entertaining, made delicious meals in his cozy dining room where he had open and lively discussions with people from all walks of life. He loved people and they loved him right back. One of his special gifts was a terrific sense of humor. His quick wit was a highlight for many. He was told that he would make a great standup comedian. Tommy's parish was Maternity of Mary in St. Paul where he lectored, distributed communion, and helped with funeral luncheons. He made many friends through the Church and had a strong and tight circle surrounding him. It is fitting that Tommy died while attending Mass at Maternity of Mary. He went to Mass every day for most of his life. Tommy is survived by his loving siblings, MaryAnn Nigbor, Bill Cwiklo, Chris Halverson, Jean (James) Kennedy; and many nieces and nephews; along with his closest friends. He was deeply cherished and loved and will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Stella Cwiklo; sisters, Carol and Betty; brother, Jim; niece, Kim and nephew, Danny. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30AM on Friday, January 6 at MATERNITY OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1414 N. Dale St., St. Paul. Visitation at the church from 9:30-10:30 AM Friday.
