Sister Virginia BIEREN

Age 85, died 12/23, at Benedictine Living Community – Windermere, Shakopee. Funeral Services Monday, 1/8, at Windermere Chapel, 1705 Windermere Way, Shakopee, with Visitation at 10am; Sharing of Memories at 10:45am; and Funeral Mass at 11:15am. Burial at Good Counsel Cemetery, Mankato, at 2:15pm. Livestreaming at www.ssndcp.org/live/blc will begin at 10:45am. Sister Virginia was born in Lewiston, ID in 1938, and grew up in Clarkston, WA. She entered the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1956 and professed first vows in 1958. She taught at Sacred Heart, St. Paul 1974-1976 and was principal at St. James, St. Paul 1978-1989. She served as development director for the School Sisters of Notre Dame 1989-1997. She continued in this role at Faithful Shepherd, Eagan 1998-1999; Trinity School, St. Paul 1999-2004 and with the Sisters of St. Benedict, St. Paul Priory 2004-2010. Survived by 2 nephews and her sisters in community, the School Sisters of Notre Dame and SSND Associates. Preceded by parents, Bernard and Veronica (Fuchs) Bieren, sisters, Barbara Knop, Beverly Gregg, Catherine Behlau and Lillian Parker; brother, Cletus.
