I just found out about Wally's passing. My deepest sympathy to all of the family. He was one of a kind and was the first one to greet us when we bought our cabin so many years ago. It's kind of an end to an era at the lake with all the old timers passing. God bless.

i am his great grand daughter and i miss him a lot and when i think about him it's like it was just yesterday that he was fishing out in his old boat or i would visit him every time i would go up to the cabin i really wish he was here but is old eyes will shut forever and never wake again but i can still feel his hand, his hugs and his kiss but i will never feel it again but i know in his heart that he loved me with all his heart and i know that in the back of his mind i was there and that i could here him say i remember you... i love him so much and he loves me too.

I'd like to send our condolences to Wally's family. He's my first cousin. His mother and dad were my god parents. I'm the daughter of Eva. We've lost touch with one another over the years. How long was Wally in the VA? My husband went to the VA for care also. I lost him last Sept. So I know how deeply you must miss Wally. Prayers to all of you.

Our sympathies to Wally's family and friends -- he was a memorable, warm, and lively bearded presence for us growing up in So. St. Paul.
