Daughter Carrie

Three years later, I miss my dad during the week. We used to talk every day for sometimes an hour. I miss our intellectual discussions. He was well read and could talk about most anything. He took us to church every Sunday and and I would find him reading his Bible in his office during his quiet times. He loved my cooking and I miss cooking for him. We went skiing together, our love for flying was shared, fishing trips in his canoe and when my husband died he and mom took me to Georgia for the Transplant Olympics. He always had time to help and I will always remember him being an honest, decent hard working, God loving man. He is missed greatly but I will see him again in a blink of an eye. See you soon Dad! Love and miss you, Carrie

My father was a very giving man, he gave of himself in many ways to others who needed help. Building a garage, moving a family, fixing a car, talking for an hour on the phone when I was needing him. He taught me how to paint correctly, how use mud and cement blocks to make a wall, to drive, to ride a bike, to fish. He had good values and belief system, was a Christian man and was dedicated to his family. He learned to downhill ski at 60 yrs. old and went down the black diamond runs. He learned how to fly a plane at Holman field. He was just beginning to solo for the first time when he learned he couldn't because of diabetes at that time. He was a very good photographer and loved taking pictures of his family. He won first place with our Collie in obedience. At 75 he got Pepper who he loved so very much. She was his border Collie and kept him company. He learned how to weld. He was mostly self taught but also took classes at Vo-Tec. in St. Paul. His favorite place to be was on his motorcycle escorting for others. He and my mom took many trips to motorcycle rally's out of state. In Colo. they won first place with his full dress Honda and was grand marshal of the Estes Park Parade. He was very active and always busy. A few years before he passed on....he was in his room (assisted living) watching out the window, the Chaplin came in and said Wally what are you doing? He responded by saying, "I'm waiting for Jesus to come for me" What a beautiful memory. He was a good hearted man, husband and father. I will see him soon, in a blink of an eye, we will all be together again with Jesus. Love ya Dad, Carrie
