Barry, it´s been ten years since you passed. I´m writing this with a huge lump in my throat. I will always miss you but I know that you are watching over all of us. Your Dad, Mom, Marlene, Bill and Lee have all joined you in heaven and I look forward to spending eternity with you and everyone. You became a grandfather recently to Lucus James and soon will have another grandson. Your name will carry on. I Love you forever Barry James!

In precious memory of my little brother, Barry. We shared many "firsts" together. Your first steps, first words, first prayers and first taste of Strawberry ice cream. Oh how I loved my baby brother! I was so proud of the dedicated police officer that you became and a highlight of my life is riding with you in your sqad car. I loved your hugs when you had your vest on. You made me feel secure in your uniform. I returned to Ukiah for your memorial in the middle of the night and had to drive the streets that we drove and remember our times together. God needed a patient man...a man with a keen sense of humor. a unique laugh and a great man to fish along beside Him. May you rest in peace, I LOVE YOU!

There are not enough words that can express how much I miss you right now, and I wish you were here to help me get through the most difficult time in my life. I know you are here in spirit and I love you so much! I will never forget the last conversation we had at Starbucks. I am proud to be your daughter and you still live on through me, always. I love you Dad!

Barry,

Going to miss seeing you at our 30 year High School Reunion. We shared great memories during our "Wonder Years" in Cub Scouts, Webelows, and hanging around the neighborhood. I often recall you patrolling Ukiah when I was passing through and and now regret not pulling you over to catch up on old times.

Rest in Peace

Barry, I wanted to thank you for all the smiles you brought to the people you touched throughout the years.Your sense of humor was infectious and you were able to brighten the darkest days. We shared a lot of good times together, working patrol shifts and investigations. Even now I can still hear that song you would sing every time I walked into the room, "LOUIE LOUIE"!!!!!!! I am thankful that I was able to see you four weeks ago and I will reflect on our conversation often. God speed "4B12", love ya "4B39".

Barry was a fabulous individual. He very diplomatically allowed me to not get a street racing ticket when I was young and foolish. He was fun and had a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed.

I remember a Holiday I performed music at for the Ukiah Police Department back in the early 1990's. Although several off duty officers and their families kept coming up to me, making song requests and telling me I was playing good music... No one was actually dancing. Not until after Barry took to the dance floor! He was a dancing machine and got most everyone excited to get out the dance floor and have some fun with him! Great memories I have of Barry. Even the one time he issued me a ticket for speeding! I teased him back though telling him I should have issued him a ticket for speeding on the dance floor! I think this was the only time in my life I've ever joked and kidded around with an officer while I was receiving a ticket. I know this is wierd but, Barry just had such a friendly personality that I actually enjoyed our traffic stop. I'm truly saddened in my heart when I learned of Barry's passing. My best thoughts and wishes go out to all members of his family, past co-workers and friends.

Officer Inman was one of the most polite and professional law enforcement officers I've had the pleasure of knowing while growing up in Ukiah. I am saddened to learn of his passing. I will always remember the two of us sharing "war stories" after returning from deployment overseas. My condolences to his family and those who loved him.

Barry,

Fun times when I was a police cadet. I met you when I was a 15 year old cadet and you came there from Willits. At the time I remember you as being one of the best officers to ride with. You were not always one to follow the rules to the letter, but you made it exciting. I remember driving the car on graveyard when you would sleep in the passenger seat; chasing people; and hanging out with you and AJ when AJ and I would cut class to go drive around in the mountains above Pillsbury.. Oops. ok once or twice. We had some times and I have some good BARRY stories.. Seeing you today was hard. But you are being put to rest in your superman suit with the badge that meant the world to you....Sleep well 4B12

It was a great honor to know you and work with you from a cadet and as a professional. Barry was one of our favorites as a cadet to ride with and work with. May you rest in peace and keep watch over all the rest of us.

Barry....you will always be missed. I remember as a cadet doing a ride along with you when I was 14 or so, you asked me "what's our location", sadly I said the wrong st name. I had to get out in the rain and walk to the next street and walk back and tell you our location. I learned fast after that. With this said Barry, God called upon you to do some "training". You will not be forgotten, safe patrol 4b12.

To the family and friends of Barry, so very sorry for your loss. Barry was taken way too soon from us. It seemed such a short time ago when he was in school with our daughter and son. We enjoyed his visits to our house, camping trips with us, his wacky sense of humor, his laugh, and his endearing compassion for his K-9s. Gone from our sight, but the memories of Barry will live on forever.

To all the Inman Family,

Barry and I worked together at Ukiah Police Department. He was a good officer, who had a determination to rid Ukiah of crime. His heart was always in it to the end. I am saddned by his untimely passing, but maybe he was needed elsewhere for a bigger purpose. My sympathy to all of you during these trying times.
