Benjamin Boyce Obituary

Benjamin John Boyce, age 84 a resident of Point Arena, died Sunday, January 29, 2006 at his residence. He was born April 20, 1921 in Kelley, Iowa to Oliver J. and Bertha Boyce. The family then moved to Southern California, where he was raised and educated. He worked most of his adult life as a Silversmith and Pipe Fitter. Mr. Boyce was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific and was a Purple Heart recipient. He enjoyed playing the guitar and was a member of the Pentecostal Faith.

He married his wife, Imogene G. White Boyce in 1972 in Reno, Nevada. Together they made their home in Oakland, CA; before moving to Mendocino Coast at Point Arena in 1994.

He is survived by his wife, Imogene; sons & daughter-in-laws; Roger and Jackie and Robert and Josie Boyce; daughter, Dorothy Roten; brothers, Bobbie, John and Oliver Boyce; brother-in-law, Wellington White and by seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 2, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at New Hope Community Church in Point Arena, Interment will follow at the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Arrangements are by Chapel by the Sea, Fort Bragg.

Good Bye Grandpa Ben, I will also remember your silly laugh when you played with us, the turqoise foot rings and you being a fun grandpa in general. We'll miss you and will always have fond memories.
