Phil lived in my apartment building for quite some time. He was a wonderful man, I loved our chats. My condolences to his family, and especially his son, Zach. He spoke of you often, and I'm so sorry for your loss.

I'm not sure my brother knows what a beautiful tapestry he completed. Often, we only look at our errors, try to fix them, recover from them and try, try again. The back of a tapestry has the threads tangled, crossed and as stitches only. Those stitches are what make the tapestry and keep it together. I see Phil's tapestry as a whole and now completed and so beautiful. The stitches of colors, how they blend the picture is honoring and my brother's life a beautiful masterpiece .
I am grateful to be a part of his masterpiece and I am so honored and blessed to have him in mine. My tapestry is still incomplete except the part with my brother Phil. I can look at my tapestry with Phil, cry, laugh and smile. What a great brother he is. I didn't even know he could sew.
The Bears, Huskers and Cubbies will miss him dearly too.
Thank you Phil for loving me, forgiving me and giving me precious memories from the very beginning. I love you and miss you incredibly.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
