Dear Doc,
Thank you for putting a smile on my face, even on the most unpleasant of days. Your cheerful demeanor made it difficult to keep a straight face while you blurted out hilarious jokes!
Even though I never had the honor of meeting you in person, I felt that you connected with me at so many different levels. You certainly had the gift, so I’m not surprised. One thing is for sure: every time I hear a Mariachi Band playing, it will remind me of you.
God bless you and your family.

I knew Bill Finnegan for about 14 years at CMT Support Group meetings. He was always up-beat, outgoing, optimistic, and had a good sense of humor. He was an inspiration to all of us coping with CMT, and will be very much missed by the group.

Peter--So sorry to hear of Bill's passing--could not find your business card so I am sending to you my condolences on line--I have so many fine memoories of Desoto St and Bill and your family are a great part of that--but having seen Bill at our gathering last year gave me new light on him--a very positve outlook on life after many struggling years--I am sorry I did not know him better over the years, but certainly happy I had a good visit with him. Sincerely Jack Havens

Bill, you will be missed by all of the members of our CMT Support Group of Santa Rosa. You provided humor, honesty, warmth, friendship, and a love of people. As support group leader I will personally miss you as you provided guidance, great ideas and solid information in addition to your compassion. And I have lost a good friend. Godspeed Bill.

So sorry to hear of your brother's passing. He was quite a character and while I hadn't seen him in many years I fondly remember a few occassions staying with his family.

The fencer's weapon is picked up & put down again. The boxer's is part of him. All he has to do is clench his fist.

I read this quote for the first time this morning, a couple of hours later I learned of your passing. I'll take the liberty of transposing the word 'weapon', as used above, and replace it with 'instrument'. Your instrument was a huge heart & a profoundly abiding faith. I learned from you 'old buddy, old pal.' God bless you Finn.

It was a pleasure and privilege to make friends with Bill Finnegan. I knew him through our small faith-sharing group, and only since I returned Sonoma County last summer. Bill was so easy to get to know. He was always open, warm and outgoing and also much fun with his candor and bright wit. I feel sad that he had too short a time with us. I will truly miss him. My heartfelt condolences to his family and his many friends who cherished him so. May the promises of our faith that Bill lived so fully bring blessed assurance.

To the Finnegan Family,
Bill was a lone voice of reason and hope when I was trying to come to terms with the realities of living a life with CMT. The example he lived was inspiring.
May God wrap each of you in His loving arms. May you know that you are never alone, for God is with us always-through the good and the bad. He never abandons us. May His love bring you strength, comfort and peace as you grieve the loss of your father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend.
