Marilyn Jean Beer

1938 - 2024

Marilyn Jean Beer, age 86, of Richfield, was born in Princeton, MN to Otto and Rose Leider on July 30, 1938. She grew up on a farm as one of 11 siblings. After graduating high school, she moved to Minneapolis and did bookkeeping for an insurance company. She met Marty at the Kitten Club Dance Hall north of Princeton and they were married on May 17, 1958. They immediately moved into their home in Richfield where they raised four children and lived for 65 years. Together they continued their love of ballroom dancing through many lessons and competitions with their friends. Marilyn also enjoyed flowers, traveling, and shopping. She was a Bluebird and Campfire girl leader and nurtured many others through her home daycare. Family and friends were always very important to Marilyn and she loved spending time with all of them.

Survived by husband, Martin; children, Ramona (Bruce) Cusick, Renee, Lisa (Joseph) Stefani and Douglas; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents, Otto and Rose Leider; siblings, Chuck, Dorothy, Carol, Jerry and Joann.

Mass of Christian Burial 11:00AM Thursday, August 22 at St. Richard's Catholic Church, 7540 Penn Ave. in Richfield. Visitation 4 - 7PM Wednesday, August 21 at Morris Nilsen Chapel, 6527 Portland Ave. in Richfield and one hour prior at church. Interment 2:30PM Friday, August 23 at St. Edward's Cemetery, 511 13th Ave. N in Princeton.
